An exploration of Christian healing with each chapter being written jointly by a theologian and a doctor. Issues addresses include, ‘how are people healed today?’ ‘The relationship between the medical and the spiritual in healing,’ ‘the significance of Jesus’ healing ministry,’ ‘psychiatry and religion.’ Many contributors also deal with the pastoral question, how should we pray for the sick?
Miraculous Healing: Henry W Frost (OMF)
Originally published in 1031, the language and medicine is somewhat dated, never the less this is still an enlightening read. Henry Frost worked for China Inland Mission and in this book describes 5 notable healings and 5 notable failures. In this context, and a context of personal humility and godliness, he then goes to look at the sovereignty of God in healing, and how the faith of the patient, and the energy and godliness of those praying do not determine whether healing occurs.
